That’s the slogan appearing on The Art Institute of New York City’s brochure inviting veterans to visit the school to explore educational opportunities.
The Art Institute of New York City, selected by G.I. Jobs magazine as a Military Friendly school, will hold two Open House evenings for veterans on April 21 and 28. Programs of study will be outlined, and pertinent subjects will be discussed, such as housing, the professional faculty, financing, the benefits of attending school in the heart of New York City, and much more.
Most important, three veterans who are current students will address the group. They are studying different programs, but all are anxious to share their experiences with other veterans.
According to Che’ Elliott, former U. S. Navy Petty Officer B4 and current Fashion Design student, “Any veteran interested in a design field should come here. In the service you’re kept strictly regimented, but The Art Institute of New York City helps you expand your focus, and encourages you to think outside the box.”
Web Design & Interactive Media student Andy P. Browne, who served two tours in Iraq states, “You can prepare yourself for a creative career based on your military background; you’ll have advantages over your peers because of the discipline you learn. You never can say ‘no – that can’t be done.’ You never quit.”
The Art Institute offers Associate of Occupational Studies and Associate of Applied Sciences programs in Digital Filmmaking, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Interior Design, and Web Design & Interactive Media.
Dr. David Warren, President of The Art Institute of New York City is a U.S. Army Lt. Colonel (Ret.), says, “It is both an honor and a privilege to be able to provide our veterans with the educational opportunities they deserve.”
